A London Climate Action Week event

June 2021:
We are delighted to announce that the Independent Expert Panel for the Legal Definition of Ecocide convened by the Stop Ecocide Foundation has concluded its drafting work.

This webinar conversation is the first focused public event around the newly launched definition.

It will explore the growing global demand for serious harm to nature - ecocide - to be made a crime, with particular focus on the recently completed legal definition of this term by a panel of top international lawyers.
Why do we need this new law? What was it like trying to define it? Why should the political world be taking this seriously and what can you do to help? And here in the UK will we take the opportunity to lead, with an ecocide amendment now submitted to the Environment Bill?

An inspiring and informative conversation around the newly emerged legal definition of ecocide. Expect a densely-packed and lively discussion between Richard Rogers, Deputy Co-Chair of the legal drafting panel, David Lammy, UK Shadow Justice Minister and Jojo Mehta, Chair of the Stop Ecocide Foundation.

Q&A opportunity included.
