Resurgence Talks: Philippe Sands - Ecocide? Issues to Think About

Join international law specialist, barrister and author, Philippe Sands QC at this Resurgence webinar where he will discuss how ecocide, the mass destruction of nature, could be a breakthrough for ecological and social justice.

Philippe Sands is co-chair of the Stop Ecocide expert drafting panel who will shortly be announcing the results of their work on a legal definition of “ecocide” as a potential international crime that could sit alongside War Crimes, Genocide and Crimes Against Humanity.

The challenges of ecocide becoming an international crime will be explored, alongside the sweeping benefits it could have in a time of ecological breakdown and climate crisis.
