Bournemouth University’s Department of Life & Environmental Sciences is host to the 8th EELF Annual Conference with the theme of Social and Scientific Uncertainties in Environmental Law.
Uncertainties are a major factor of today’s grand environmental challenges. Environmental threats, such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and emerging pollutants, exceed scientific knowledge of their complex causes, consequences, and solutions. Uncertainties and involvement of scientific expertise has gained crucial importance in environmental policy and our quest for ecological sustainability.
How does environmental law tackle uncertainties and involve sciences? This conference explores how environmental law is prepared or could be better equipped to deal with knowledge gaps and uncertainties in the legislative, administrative and judicial branch. It assesses all prominent fields of environmental regulation and involves practitioners and researchers from other relevant fields to facilitate interdisciplinary debate.
Join the debate, exchange ideas and meet colleagues! Get inspired from a great selection of keynotes, sessions and presentations, bring in your own expertise and ideas and discuss with colleagues from across and beyond Europe.
